Summer plans

This summer will be very special because of the pandemic. I'll be studying until the second week of January and I don't wanna plan anything because there's a big possibility to be in quarentine again. As the weather is already like summer, I'll go with some friends to Quilpué next weekend. I'm very excited because we all are from different cities and it has been very complicated to see each other this year. Actually, we have met just one time two months ago. The other plan that I have is to go to Tunquén to a friend's house. We are planning to go with other friends in New Year, and we are very excited. It's so sad that I have to return to study after that! When the semester ends I wanna go to my ant's house in Chillán. I'm very close with her and I also have many friends there. I'm not gonna work because I've been working the whole year and I really need some rest. If it's possible I would love to go to Netherlands because my cousin lives there and she told me she can invite me and pay the plane ticket, but we have to wait to see what will happen with covid. If not, I plan to buy a small pool to put in my backyard because this summer will be terrifying in Santiago! I hope my friends that live in other cities will invite me to their houses, but I have many friends here so I'm not gonna be bored. The most important plan is to relax, because this year has been very intense and I've been throught a lot. I'm starting to feel better and I really dont wanna do anything, I just wanna have the time to sleep a lot, to party with my friends and to watch many movies.

    I hope everything it's ok, I think that getting out of the university routine and getting distracted is very necessary especially this year, so hopefully you can do all that.

    It fills me with hope to read all the plans and possibilities you have in mind, the truth is that i have not been able to feel so optimistic about it, but it is refreshing to read that there still people who remain positive in the face of all this panorama.     Hello Natalia. I hope you can finally see all of your friends. I think this year has been so hard that the little things that we use to do everyday seem a lot more special now, like seeing our loved ones.

A country I'd like to visit

I've always dreamed about going to Mexico. Since i was a child, I used to watch Mexican tv-shows and I listened to Mexican music, and now that I study anthropology and I'm passionate about archeology, I'm obsessed with old ruins, specially the Maya culture that stills alive until now, in a different way. I have many books about that, and in my free times I investigate about Mexican culture. Even if I'm very interested in pre-hispanic ruins, I'm also very curious about the capital, Ciudad de Mexico. I think that you can experience the rial Mexican culture, since many touristic places are invaded by international investors and everything is made for tourism. I've heard that it might be a dangerous city but i think that if I'm careful I'll be fine. I've also been inspired by cinema, specially with Alejandro González Iñarritu movies like "Amores Perros". Currently I'm saving money so I can go to a long trip across the country for two months...

My future job

 It's hard to imagine my future job. You all know that i'm still a college student, but i've already had many working experiences. Some of them were just because I needed the money even if I wasn't really interested in the job, like when I worked at Falabella. Nevertheless, I had two experiences that i really enjoyed and changed my perception of what I want in life. The first one wasn't paid, it was a volunteering in a church where we were helping Haitians to learn spanish. Then, I started teaching french to a 6 years old child, three times a week. Now, I make 5 classes in a week, and I also help him with scholar homeworks. He is 8 years old now and it's so beautiful to see how I can be participant in his education, not only to teach french, but also to teach values, respect, and to try to make the learning experience interesting for him. My favorite movie

It wasn’t easy to choose just one favorite movie, since I love so many. Some of them are funny, like Clueless; other ones are romantic, like Your Name; while many of them are very intense and reflexive. But there is one particular movie that makes me feel and think things that I’ve never felt before, the experience at the cinema theater was unique and that’s why I choose to talk about it. It’s called “El Abrazo de la Serpiente”, by the Colombian Ciro Guerra, and it was nominated to the Oscars in the international movie section in 2016. The movie is about an amazonian indigenous called Karamakate that helps two anthropologists during two periods of his life. Meanwhile, the colonists are exterminating the Amazon to exploit the gaucho, and are slaughtering the population, killing them and imposing them to learn the occidental culture, and to abandon their own culture and language.
